Recurrent mycoses

Recurrent fungal infections

Today, I'm going to talk about mushrooms.

Patients often don't link fungi and candida together. As it happens, the common Candida albicans species is not the only fungus in our bodies. This makes treatment really difficult, as candida infections are often only linked to digestive problems by the consultant. So, if patients come for autoimmune disease, allergies, pain, pinderal intake, etc., he or she finds it hard to apply anti-candida or better said "antifungi" treatment, without correlating the two together.

What's more, Candida albicans is not the only species of candida, as there are hundreds of different species of Candida in our bodies.

Today, I'm going to talk about mushrooms.

Patients often don't link fungi and candida together. As it happens, the common Candida albicans species is not the only fungus in our bodies. This makes treatment really difficult, as candida infections are often linked solely to digestive problems. So, if patients come for autoimmune disease, allergies, pain, weight gain, etc., he or she finds it hard to apply anti-candida or better said "anti-mycosis" treatment, without correlating the two together.

What's more, Candida albicans is not the only species of candida, as there are hundreds of different species of Candida in our bodies. Disbelieving patients will push their doctors to order a Candida albicans test to challenge what I see in my microscope. Often, the tests are negative because it's not C. albicans but another type of fungus if not digestive aspergillus as well as Candida glabrata, Candida parapsilosis and Candida tropicalis.

I see enormous difficulty on the part of patients in trying to get rid of various fungi, as they all generally like "sugar". Yet avoiding sugary foods doesn't always help get rid of mushrooms.

But very few people make the connection with yeast, hence the consumption of bread and alcoholic beverages containing yeast.

When faced with any type of fungal organism, patients MUST avoid

  • sourdough bread and cookies
  • bread and cakes containing yeast
  • Yeast-containing beverages: red/white/rose wine, champagne, beer...

Sodium bicarbonate (baking powder) and tartaric acid or cider vinegar are authorized to help our cakes and cookies rise. Baking powder is also permitted.

Only spirits or strong alcohols can be consumed, as they do not contain yeast to feed existing intestinal yeasts.

I'd like to remind the reader that candida can create the following symptoms other than the typical oral and vaginal thrush that everyone is familiar with:

  • Chronic fatigue,
  • Migraines,
  • Intestinal problems (usually constipation, but ALL digestive problems can be caused by fungi)
  • Skin problems: eczema and nail disorders
  • Allergies
  • Asthma and other respiratory problems
  • Histamine reactions
  • Often accompanies Lyme disease and fibromyalgia
  • Brain fog and all memory and concentration disorders
  • GERD in infants and adults !!!
